Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Muslim Buddy Android app.

No accounts, ads, or paywalls

Muslim Buddy is free to use. It does not require registration, display advertising, include paid features, or place core functionality behind a paywall. Because there are no user accounts, we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or profile information.

How the app works offline

The Quran, navigation information, Azkar, and prayer-time calculation logic are included in the app. Core features do not require an internet connection.

Information stored locally

Your last-read Quran page, bookmarks, selected prayer location, and prayer settings are saved only on your device so the app can remember your preferences. We cannot access this information. It can be removed through Android’s app-data controls or by uninstalling the app, subject to your device’s backup settings.

Location

Location permission is optional and is used to calculate local prayer times. If you choose to use your device location, the app may send its latitude and longitude to LocationIQ to find the nearest city and time zone. Your selected prayer location is then stored on your device. It is not sent to us or used for advertising. If permission is not granted, the app uses a default fallback location.

Limited analytics and crash reports

To understand general app usage and improve reliability, Muslim Buddy uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. These services may collect basic usage events, app and device information, approximate region, installation identifiers, and technical crash details. Crash reports may include stack traces, relevant app state, and device metadata.

On supported Android devices, Firebase Analytics may also access the Android Advertising ID or a similar identifier for measurement. This identifier is provided by Android or Google Play services, not created by Muslim Buddy. We do not display ads or use this identifier for personalized advertising or remarketing.

We do not intentionally send your name, email address, Quran reading activity, bookmarks, prayer settings, or precise location to Firebase. Analytics and crash data is used only to understand overall app usage, fix problems, and improve Muslim Buddy.

Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your information. Limited analytics and crash-diagnostic data is transmitted to Google through Firebase and processed on our behalf. If you use your device location, coordinates may be sent to LocationIQ only to identify your city and time zone. We do not share this data with third parties for advertising. Contacting us

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include in that email. We use it only to respond to your request. This communication occurs outside the Muslim Buddy app.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when the app changes. The latest version will be published on this page.
